The ‘Greenock Creek Tavern’
Greenock South Australia The Annual General Meeting and election of officers is held directly after the General Meeting in July.
Meetings
are generally informal and most have a guest speaker presenting various
interesting topics. Members nights are also arranged when members present talks
on their experiences in aviculture.
Memberships are currently available for Single and Family groups with a category for Juniors. The Barossa Bird Club is one of the largest “Bird” clubs in the State. Memberships are due 1st July each year
The
club arranges quarterly seed & pellet orders. We have service items such as,
rings, nets, carry boxes, feed and water bowls, vitamins, nest material,
feathers, swamp grass, these are only to mention a few that are on offer at all
meetings. Two sizes of steel, 20mm x 20mm and 25mm x 25mm galvanized RHS are
available and can be purchased from the Steel Coordinator. All of these items
are well below retail prices.
We also have a metal badge and stubby holders on hand to members and non-members alike.
Have
we got NEWS for you!!!! It will be raining Bird's at our
SALE & EXPO 3rd May 2009. Non-members of
BBC Club have asked on numerous occasions if they can sell birds at the
sale…..but you have had to be a Barossa Member to do so……..we have since
come of age……our sale will be an ‘open sale’ meaning all persons
belonging to a “Bird Club” will be able to register to sell their birds. The
venue is the Tanunda Show Hall, there will be a number of trade stands so the
whole family can enjoy the days outing. If Mum & the kid’s don’t have
the same passion for birds as Dad…..or vice versa…you can still come as a
family as there will be other interesting trade stands that are not bird
related. As the old saying goes…when Mum’s happy….. Dad’s
happy……when the kids are happy……everyone is happy. Our goal is to make
it interesting for everyone. To our interstate
visitors, have a think about possibly spending a few days in the picturesque
Barossa Valley. We hold our Club Meeting the last Wednesday of each month
therefore it falls on the Wednesday before the sale. You are more than welcome
to come along and meet the locals. If you decide to attend our Club
Meeting…..please give us a phone call and we can fill you in on finer details.
There’s plenty to see in the Barossa and surrounding districts with Adelaide
being only a stone throw away. All
